The Monkey, The Coconut and The Peanuts

April 9, 2010

How do you catch a Monkey?

1.) Carve a small hole in a Coconut, just large enough for a Monkey to put its hand in.
2.) Fix the Coconut to a tree, and fill that hole with Peanuts.
3.) Said Monkey can insert hand into Coconut to grab at Peanuts.
4.) Fistful of Peanuts is too large for hand to come out of Coconut.
5.) Monkey refuses to let go of Peanuts and hence is trapped.
6.) Prepare clamp to eat Monkey Brain.

Okay, so I was kidding about point six.

You give Peanuts, you get Monkeys.

Those that let go of the Peanuts may not be Monkeys after all.

So if you want to catch something other than Monkeys, you'll have to use a different method.

This little Fable has so many things we can learn from, don't you think? ;)

6 Deconstructions to “The Monkey, The Coconut and The Peanuts”

  1. Karen, on April 9th, 2010 at 11:40 pm, deconstructed:
There are better things in this world other than peanuts...

If you look further, you will find peanut butter..

If you look to the horizon, you will find treasure "Peanut Butter Candy in a Crunchy Shell" :D

Well, monkeys are not a bad thing. Monkeys are quick-witted and cute, my dear. I have learnt in my life (28 years) that, there is a good, and bad, to EVERYTHING. remember this. =) monkeys (example) can climb up trees, a hippo pr pig cannot (I think cannot). Hippo can protect itself with its size and um hide(skin). Monkey jump about to protect itself, ecetera. And the thing about, peanuts, peanuts are made into so many food products nowadays, they are simply lovely. We have all sorts of packaged nuts nowadays. Last word: we will know what to let go of, by, keeping what is good for us. Amen. Love ya, Good night, don't brood too much. =)

At times we had become the monkey without us realizing it. (=.=")

    Hi Nat
Wun be talking about monkeys and peanuts cos, you know jolly well that if one put in 'peanuts' effort, the outcome will just be 'monkey'ing around...haha
Anyway, tot of sharing with you one nice Taiwan Drama ...where the actors/actresses are cool...can learn alot from their acting too.
And the songtrack is very nice - what Pei Fen played on air just prior to the 9pm show that you co-host with her. and it is true -> 我們沒有在一起
