Sinema @ Old School

April 11, 2008

SORblogheadweb.jpg

Smell of Rain was my first time acting. It was a small, independent feature film whose creation was fueled by the big dreams of a tiny director named Gloria. Smell of Rain has since been screened at various film festivals around the world and is now finally back home.

Sinema Old School is situated atop Mount Sophia at the newest and ultra-hip creative arts community hotspot, Old School. It is the physical space of Sinema.SG, and the remarkable initiative by a photographer and graphic designer, accidental filmmakers, and self-confessed media addicts, Nicholas Chee and Randy Ang.

A salient collaboration between Old School and Originasian Pictures and with digital high-definition projection technology made possible by the partnership with Panasonic and Apple, Sinema Old School is the first and only high-definition cinema solely devoted to Singapore films. This truly indie 130-seater cinema space also hopes to be a permanent venue for local bands' breakout gigs, technology workshops and master-classes, film forums and dialogue sessions.

Sinema Old School has kindly provided a home for Smell of Rain, which will be screening again (possibly for the last time) on the following dates:

April 18, 2008 - 9:00 pm
April 19, 2008 - 7:00 pm
April 25, 2008 - 5:00 pm
April 26, 2008 - 9:00 pm

For more information and/or ticket bookings, check out these other sites:

Of course, they are screening other fantastic films there too, so be sure to give Sinema Old School your support!
