Oosh, it’s Café Ren Ci!

Friday the 16th was my first day of filming for《宝家卫国》and I woke up bright and early to report to work. It was so early that the canteen wasn't even open, and I thought I would surely starve to death, until I chanced upon salvation-in-a-box...

Like a beacon of light in the darkness, the Hotbake™ machine beckoned.

Yes, for just $2, you can have a Cheesy Hotdog & Egg sandwich. 50 cents more gets you a Black Pepper Chicken & Onion sandwich. $4 gets you a combo meal with both choices. And yes, the menu changes every week. Amazing technology, I tell you. Love it.

I wanted to take more photos of the filming, but since we were filming in an army camp, we had to surrender all camera phones. Hence, no more photos. Dang.

Filming went alright, and I finished earlier than expected. Was actually planning to stay home and vegetate among the stacks of scripts, when out of the blue, Mark the Pilot calls me and goes, "Hey, wanna meet up?"

"Who's going?"

"Three of us and May."

Tired as I was (remember I woke up at like 5-something-am), it had been awhile since The 3 Musketeers had met up, and an even longer time since I'd met May, so I hauled my arse out of the house.

I'd just gotten a VIP card for this place called Oosh at Dempsey Road, so we thought it'd be good to check it out, since none of us had been there before. Besides, 25% discount sounded good.

Oosh has different dining areas. By the time we reached, the Western cuisine area was full (didn't think of reserving beforehand), and so we decided to check out the Japanese area.

It was damn atas (high-class) lah! We had our own private room, that was pretty cool. BUT the prices were even cooler. I lost all my appetite when I saw the prices. A plate of 6 different assortments of sashimi for 2-3 people cost a hundred bucks, but Mark went ahead and ordered it. -_____-"

In all fairness though, that was sashimi. The more standard fare was reasonable, but slightly on the expensive side. Still, the ambience was great, and it was a really nice place to chillout and catch up.

Clockwise from top left: Boaz the Lawyer, Mark the Pilot, May the um.. May, and Yours Truly @ Oosh.

After dinner, we headed down to Café del Mar to meet Kim, who was at Sentosa with her colleagues earlier and hence couldn't join us for dinner.

At Café del Mar with Kim

Since Kim was running back and forth between her colleagues and us, we decided to just move over and jump into bed with her friends. Okay, so that sounded a bit wrong, but well, there were these beds on the beach where we could just chillout under the stars.

Pictures, pictures, pictures:

That was it for the night, I went home and crashed.

The next day was full-dress rehearsals for Ren Ci, and the day after was the actual event.

This is how it looks like inside the TV Theatre. TV makes everything look big, haha. Really amazing what you can do with camera angles.

That hotbake machine is simply amazing!!
How come they are not all over singapore?? Did you know that they deliver snadwiches to that machine every single day? Its their company policy. And then its toasted it comes out all warm and crunchy.
My favourite is the hotdog melt or maybe the hotdog and cheese. We had a lot of the machines at NTU and also at the Subordinate Courts when I was paying my fine!
    YUM!!! check it out.
