Back to work.
Haven't had much going on the past few days. At least, not stuff that I'm at liberty to post here la - personal work/career related. So basically other than that, I've been rotting at home with NO castings to attend, coz' the one that I was supposed to attend landed on a roadshow day which was yesterday. Boohoohoo.
Anyhow, it was GREAT to be back at work with my wonderful, talented bunch of friends (and dare I say, family) at MDC! It was kinda meaningless doing the show coz' I only had one item, but the company more than made up for it :) Yeah, I'll try and squeeze in another item today but that really depends if I can get my mandarin song memorised on time.
Had a talk with the new boy. Heard so much about him and decided that maybe a good talk would be in order. I mean, I'd hate to see potential being wasted and I think that he does have potential - just that he gives up too easily. Explained to him the working culture at MDC and as well as how much I've been enriched by the training and experiences there. MDC is a place where at the end, 2 things can happen. You can either be a damn chao slacker and waste your whole NS life away, irritating people and being useless to both yourself and the company; Or you can put in a lot of effort and reap even bigger rewards (and I can testify to this). Hopefully things'll pick up for the better and he'll manage to develop to his full potential. And at least he won't be wasting space since there's a really limited quota for NSFs. It's always good to have hardworking and promising NSFs because at least the seniors won't have to be so stressed over making sure that The Show Goes On.
Yeah. As I've mentioned before, that's the motto of every performer who's worthy of being called a performer. And that's something that was reiterated again in MDC. There have been times when we have been so totally short-handed, and yet the show managed to go on. We had to learn other people's songs and learn other people's choreography at the snap of the fingers, just to make sure the show went on. It was tiring for sure, but at least we didn't let disappoint the audience as well as the Professional Standards which we had set for ourselves.
Haha. As you can see, I do have a lot of passion for MDC, because I have learnt so much from it. I'll ORD this Friday. So fast, huh? But having discussed some stuff with Zaini, looks like this won't quite be the last of me just yet! Haha.
